Friday, October 3rd, 2008Is GPS better than Garmin GPS on cell phones?
I have the T-Mobile G1 has Navigaton .. do you think I should still get a Navigaton since I travel a lot .. or is the stuff on my cell phone and navigation as good as google?
Basically, They use algorithms similar to FIG roads, and maps very similar. That said, the autonomous GPS is probably a better chipset, so a larger screen large (that you should not look at when driving anyway), and work where you can get a GPS signal, and is a one-time cost to use. The disadvantages are that you have to pay a bit for the map updates. POI updates can be free, but they must be available anyway. With a mobile phone GPS software and maps from the network and can be refined and updated quickly enough. You must pay a monthly fee if, but it may be marginal compared to the expense for a GPS Nav and its autonomous updates. It is also helpful to have a single device. You can also have applications of interactive navigation, years and find information about the POIs immediately on the same device. Given the choice, I'd prefer probably a mobile sat-nav.
