Donate Cell Phones
In the United States today, more than one billion cell phones are obsolete or used hidden in drawers and cabinets after the owners forgot those old appliances. Each year, over one hundred million mobile phones are replaced by users – less than twenty percent of these units are recycled or returned to manufacturers for proper disposal. When you recycle or donate cell phones, you can help not only the environment but the non-profit organizations and to continue their community service.
A organization differs among the various groups now running collection of cell phones and recycling campaigns throughout the countries. Your cell phone donation will greatly contribute to a creative and dynamic Rock the Earth to the defense of the environment.
What is Rock the Earth?
Rock the Earth (RTE) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization working in tandem with industry music to promote awareness of environmental issues and to help protect endangered ecosystems and communities in the United States. Each year it holds a summer tour across the United States where musicians perform and volunteers help raise public awareness issues and environmental concerns.
Rock the Earth is currently working on several projects to help protect the environment and represent individuals and communities that are threatened by others. To name a few, actively involved in helping TEN: preserving roadless national forests from commercial encroachment, protect endangered species in the United States against the dangers of pesticides to protect the portion of the Colorado River that flows through the Grand Canyon commercial interests; lawyer to force the cruise lines to mitigate the impact their activities on the environment and protect the rights of indigenous people in Nebraska against the effects of the expansion of a uranium mine important in the area.
Rock the Earth optimistic and thus musical approach of environmental protection has naturally attracted personalities high-level industries in music and entertainment. Alicia Keys Allen and Kris are both strong supporters of RTE. Performers and groups as Sheryl Crow, Ozzy Osbourne, Ratdog, Keller Williams, Jack Johnson, Incubus, Bon Jovi, Bonnie Raitt and Disco Biscuits have at one time or another volunteer their time and talent to make the annual summer tour of RTE.
How you can help
Rock the Earth, has recently launched a campaign of mobile phone recycling to help create awareness of the dangers of improper disposal of cellular phones.
