Last winter was his 14th birthday of our youngest daughter. We promised him a cell phone only when she was old enough, we agreed 14 years old when she was 11. His sisters did their last summer, and they are a little older. With all those cell phones in the house, we decided to consolidate our phone bills to a plan to share conquest of our phone bills growing. We had all the kids help in finding a good cell phone plan for our family desires and needs. It turned into a big project that we and the children, worked for about a week. I strongly suggest you other Parents send their children too involved in the process. He not only brought our family, but he also helped the children understand the price of one a phone and what limits they have. All of their choice, so it was really a group decision.
Since we were already Telus customer, and liked their no nonsense billing process, we decided to stay with them. Telus plans from family starts with a plan to both. Both can all share unlimited calls between them and the included minutes, texts, email, etc., for $ 35.00/month. Of course, the price increases with additional members, so that's what we found. Currently there is an offer by Telus available for 1, 2 or 3 year agreement whereby the first month is free.
With access to a maximum of 5 family members, we receive unlimited mobile to mobile between all family members. weekend unlimited voicemail, call waiting and we get a free phone for each family member. It's exciting for children. Members action plan are all under the same account, and must reside in the same province. Depending on whether you choose 1, 2, or 3 year plan agreement, there are bonus minutes added to the plan. A warning, however, an additional 10 percent will be added to any text or attachment sent to outside Canada. All five members must be Canadian domestic numbers and does not include your own mobile Telus #, or toll free numbers. Local and texting does not include roaming or long distance charges. This includes picture messaging and video, but our children will not have much access as on their phone anyway. We can change the five numbers on the plan after one billing cycle, but this was not applicable to us either.
There are, as with any other plan, fees and additional charges. This is where we spent a lot of time. There are additional charges for other local calls, directory assistance, 911 the cost of emergency access and long distance charges and roaming. There are also charges for access to the system and only one account setup time charge. We all sat down and agreed on boundaries, has signed a contract with one for individual responsibility for cell phone, and chose the 40 Plan.
Children can share and exchange the minutes Unused with each other, and have unlimited incoming minutes. The price is $ 40.00 per month for our 5 family members. Much to the extent where we are concerned. I do not even want to talk about what we already pay.
I strongly suggest to all parents that their children involved in information about billing and charges for cell phones. It has really helped our family by reducing the number of arguments to come, and children feel a real sense of maturity.
